Officers were called to the bus station in Surrey Street shortly after 8.20am following reports that a man in his 60s had been assaulted by another passenger with what is believed to be a penknife, suffering a minor cut to his head.

A woman, believed to be in her 30s, has been arrested and is currently being taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre where she will be questioned.

A number of people were on board the bus at the time of the incident and no one else was injured.

The air ambulance landed on top of a nearby multi storey car park, but was not needed.
