A charity is encouraging people around the county to open their gardens to the public - or even just loved ones - for a fundraising drive.

Age UK Norfolk is hoping people will get on board with the Open Garden Season, which will support its work with older people in the county.

The season runs until the end of summer and - whatever their garden size or design - anyone can join in.

This year, the charity has teamed up with local garden centre Notcutts, who are giving away a free 50-litre bag of multi-purpose compost when you sign up to open your garden in aid of the charity.

Hilary MacDonald, chief executive, said; “We hope that garden lovers across Norfolk will be inspired to join us, whether as a gardener opening up your garden or as a visitor taking the opportunity to enjoy Norfolk gardens and of course, a big thank you to Notcutts for their kind support of our Open Garden Season.”
