Comedian Ade Edmondson has paid a visit to Cromer taking part in the Crab and Lobster Festival as part of his new television series.

The actor, famous for his role as Vyvyan from cult 80s sitcom the Young Ones, has been in the county filming for a new 20-episode series, Ade on Britain, about traditional British produce.

And as part of the series, which is set to be screened on ITV1 from November, he visited the Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival which took place at the end of May.

Kate Royall, secretary of the festival, said Mr Edmondson had visited north Norfolk and the festival on Sunday, May 22 to shoot footage for the new series.

She said: 'He spent time learning how to net a lobster pot, crabbing off the pier, singing sea shanties and heading out into the North Sea to go fishing for crab with {fisherman and Cromer Lifeboat crew member} John Davies.'

It was reported earlier this week how Mr Edmondson had also visited the Fens for the series for an episode focusing on country foods.
