King's Lynn's Norfolk Arena will host an action-packed event to raise money for local charity Scotty's Little Soldiers this evening.

The Saddlebow Road stadium will open its doors to help the charity which supports the children of men and women killed whilst serving in the British Armed Forces.

The night will feature Twin Drifting battles from some of the UK's top professional drivers while speedway riders from King's Lynn Stars and Young Stars, along with players from King's Lynn Town Football Club, will be in attendance for photograph and autograph sessions.

There will also be displays from the Norfolk 4x4 Club, RC Drifting (remote controlled drift cars), open pits so visitors can see the cars close up and meet the drivers, trade stands, BBQs, bouncy castles and a late-night bar and disco.

Stadium owner Keith 'Buster' Chapman said: 'We hope there will be a good attendance to help raise awareness for such a worthwhile local charity and to collect as much money as possible.

'We shall have collection buckets at the entrance for people to make voluntary donations and the Professional Drifters (drivers) will be giving once in a lifetime passenger rides to the public for a small donation - 100pc of which will go to Scotty's Little Soldiers.'

The charity is named after King's Lynn soldier Cpl Lee Scott, 26, who was killed by a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan with the Tank Regiment, in 2009. It was set up by his widow Nikki who had two children with the fallen hero.

Entry is free and doors open at 6.30pm.
