It may not have been ideal weather conditions, but the community of Mundesley turned out for the Boxing Day dip to raise money for the village's inshore lifeboat.

More than 200 dippers braved the December cold for the annual fundraiser as a crowd numbering around 1000 spectators cheered them on.

Wendy Copping, chairman of Mundesley Inshore Lifeboat friends' committee, said: 'A fabulous turnout at Mundesley Boxing Day dip with more than 200 braving the icy water and well over 1,000 supporting.

'A big thank you to everyone that put money in the buckets, which amounted to £1380.40. This will be split between the 1st Mundesley Air Scouts and Open Door Dementia Friendly Cafe Mundesley.'

Mundesley Volunteer Inshore Lifeboat is entirely independent from the RNLI and supported completely by donations from the public. The service works closely with other lifeboats in the area and Coastguard rescue teams.
