The A47 has reopened after it was closed just outside Norwich when a caravan overturned.

The westbound carriageway between the A146 at Trowse and the A140 junction, was shut just after 1.15pm today (Saturday) because of the accident.

Police were diverting traffic via Norwich's inner ring road while emergency services dealt with the accident, in which there was a reported spillage of oil into the road.

The road was re-opened by 1.50pm.

The crash was the second on the A47 today. The road was shut to the west of Norwich after a crash at Hockering, near Dereham just after 7am.

That crash involved a car and a lorry. Fire fighters freed a patient from a vehicle and one person was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital with unknown injuries.
