Drivers endured severe delays on the A47 today after a lorry shed its load. The lorry skidded off the road and into a nearby field on the King's Lynn side of Necton on the A47 at about 6.50am. The skip being carried by the lorry fell by the side of the road.
There were added delays for motorists when the skip proved too heavy to be moved by the recovery vehicle first sent to the scene.
No other vehicles were involved and no-one was injured. Police are hoping to have the skip removed by Friday morning.
t A scaffold lorry also caused tailbacks on the A47 when it broke down in the Dereham direction near Swanton Morley this afternoon. As it waited to be recovered it sunk into the verge of the road and had to be towed out several hours later.
