A47 closed for eight hours following lorry crash

The A47 has reopened after a lorry crashed and overturned close to the Walton Highway roundabout between King’s Lynn and Wisbech.
Norfolk Police were called to the scene around 6.30am this morning (Monday, June 4), where the road was closed between Lynn Road and Elm High Road for nearly eight hours while recovery was underway.
A police spokesman said there had been a fuel spillage onto the roundabout and debris from the lorry shedding its load.
Diversions were in place while Highways England were on the scene.
A Highways England spokesman said there were no injuries in the incident.
He said recovery were on the scene to clear diesel and 20 tonnes of load from the road.
Recovery of the overturned HGV and diesel spillage clean-up was completed at around 2.30pm this afternoon and the road was reopened in both directions.
