A47 closed in both directions following serious collision

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the A47 following a serious collision near Wisbech.

A section of the A47, near Thorney Toll, to the south west of Wisbech has been closed in both directions following a serious collision.

Cambridgeshire Police are asking people to avoid the road, which is expected to be closed for several hours.

Shortly after 1pm on Sunday, May 6, Cambscops tweeted; 'The emergency services dealing with the collision at Thorney Toll are saying that there are serious injuries.'

Bus operators are also warning passengers to expect 'severe disruption to First XL' services, due to heavy traffic between King's Lynn and Peterborough
