Emergency services were at the scene of a crash on the A47 in Norfolk earlier today.

The A47 at Scarning was closed in both directions between the A1075 and Draytonhall Lane following a road traffic collision just after 6am on Thursday, August 29.

Police and the ambulance service were at the scene, and drivers were asked to avoid the area or allow more time for their journeys if necessary.

Fire engines from Dereham, Carrow, Watton and Hingham also attended, providing casualty care and scene safety.

Police later confirmed that a van driver had died as a result of the crash.

The road was reopened at 1.10pm.
