The accident happened this morning on the Acle straight, about two miles out of Great Yarmouth, at 7.20am this morning.

Officers from Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing attended the emergency, which took place on the Norwich-bound road but did not force the road to close.

However, that section of road was fully blocked for nearly three hours while the lorry was recovered from the ditch.

The Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing Team tweeted: 'First job of the day for the East team.

'On scene #A47 Acle straight between Yarmouth and Halvergate.

'One lane closed #Norwich bound due to an HGV in the ditch.

'No injuries and recovery en route.'

A Norfolk Police spokesman said the lorry driver got out of the vehicle unhurt.
