The A140 has re-opened after a crash caused it to close for five hours.

The incident happened at around 5.30pm in Tasburgh.

All emergency services were called to the scene.

One vehicle is believed to have been involved.

Fire crews from Carrow, Earlham and Long Stratton used hydraulic rescue equipment to release a casualty out of the car.

The incident was just before the Hempnall crossing and the B1527.

Recovery was called to the scene at 8.30pm with the road re-opening around three hours later.

Police remained at the scene of the crash until the road was re-opened conducting investigations and diverting traffic.

Diversion signs were placed in the area to help motorist.

Norfolk police tweeted: “Officers from @SouthNorfPolice and @NSRAPT are on scene at an RTC on the #140 at Tasburgh. The road is fully closed to all traffic, please avoid the area.”

Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
