The A1088 at Ixworth has reopened after several hours after a crane crashed into a roadside ditch.
The vehicle, which weighs at least 36 tonnes, has toppled clear of the carriageway.
The road was closed from 9.40am until 2.15pm in both directions, from Ixworth to Norton, to allow for the vehicle to be recovered.
The driver is not thought to have been injured in the accident.
Suffolk police, who were called to the scene at around 7.30am.
