Lunchtime showers will be followed by sunnier evenings across Norfolk this weekend.

And from Monday, forecasters predict that the weather is only going to improve, with highs of 28C by Wednesday.

Norwich-based forecaster Weatherquest said there was a chance of light showers moving across East Anglia at around lunchtime today (Saturday).

But from 4pm, the weather is likely to improve and temperatures are expected to reach 21C.

On Sunday, there will be some brighter spells in the morning, followed by light showers between 1pm and 4pm.

However, the weekend will end on a high as the sunshine breaks through the clouds from 5pm onwards, bringing temperatures of 22C.

The good weather is forecast to continue into the working week, with Monday seeing highs of around 23C.

It will be slightly warmer in the west of Norfolk compared to the east due to an easterly breeze.

On Tuesday, temperatures will continue to rise to 24C, and on Wednesday the mercury is forecast to hit 28C.

James Wilby, forecaster at Weatherquest, said East Anglia could be the warmest part of the country by midweek.
