Severe weather warnings have been issued for across the region

It's been a true summer of two halves.

On the one hand we have already had some amazing events, drawing people out in their thousands.

The Jubilee weekend was an outstanding success, despite the weather, and this week the torch showed Norfolk and Suffolk people at its best.

This weekend the memorable moments continue with the Lord Mayor's Celebrations and in a few weeks it will be the Olympic Games.

But on the other hand, it has rained, and rained, and rained.

We are potentially facing one of the wettest summers on record.

But has the bad weather spolied your summer? Or have you still managed to have a season to remember?

Here's what the people of Norwich said today.

Robert Bullard who works at Marks and Spencer's in Norwich said: 'We have to expect that if we have one day of sunshine we are due for another five days worth of rain. We live in a culture where we are never satisfied though, if it's hot, we say it's too hot; if it's cold, we say it's too cold. You just have to stay positive.'

Karen James, also from Norwich agreed, saying: 'I am not disheartened by this weather at all. I expect it and there is rock 'n' roll dancing on at the forum so come rain or shine, I shall dance regardless. After all, this is the British weather we are talking about so you have to get used to it. If you are depressed you will be depressed all summer.'

Others like Michelle Harrowing from Kings Lynn, out with her partner for the day, are not so happy. She said: 'I am very depressed about today. Where is the sunshine? We came all the way here and were expecting a nice day as he's on leave.'

Emma Crospy from Norwich had a summer BBQ arranged for this evening, but said: 'Well that won't be happening now will it? I'm always in high spirits though, however. I am getting married in five weeks so it better not rain then.'
