A Norfolk venue known for its spectacular Christmas shows welcomed couples planning their special day.

The Thursford Collection, near Fakenham, hosted an EDP Wedding Show for the second time yesterday. An estimated 400 people came through the doors and more than 50 wedding suppliers showcased their goods and services.

Diana Sims, general manager for weddings at Archant Norfolk, said: 'There has been a steady crowd all day.

'This is a great venue for these events.

'There have been some happy couples here, seeing what is on offer, and the exhibitors have been pleased with how it has gone.'

Exhibitors included Alba Rose Jewellers, Bus and Us, East Coast Bars, The Frock Spot, Pure Brides and Dipples, the family jeweller in Norwich in Dereham, which was the event sponsor.

Rebecca Wells, assistant manager of Dipples in Norwich, said: 'This is a beautiful venue, with a lovely feel to it, and it's great to be here.

'We've heard lots of positive feedback from the people we have spoken to.'

Charlie Cushing, operations manager and events co-ordinator at the Thursford Collection, said: 'It's our second year of hosting weddings here this year. We hosted five weddings last year. We offer something different here. We're not a stately home, it's more of a relaxed vibe.'

The next EDP Wedding Show will be at Ivy House Country Hotel at Oulton Broad on April 10, from 10.30am until 3.30pm.
