Percent of A-levels graded A*-C: 52.4pc

Neil McShane, principal, Attleborough Academy Norfolk said: 'This year shows a significant increase for the Academy in the points achieved by all students and increases on other measures, including the overall pass rate. Congratulations to our Year 13 students for their hard work and commitment, the vast majority of whom have been accepted onto their university course of choice.

Particular congratulations should go to Chloe Whiterod with a superb set of two A* grades, two A grades and a B grade and Dan Smith-Hughes who achieved A*s in Maths and Creative Writing a year early.'

Percent of A-levels graded A*-C: 79pc

Headteacher Angelo Goduti said: 'We are delighted to report the best ever A level results at Bungay High Sixth Form. The percentage of A levels graded at A* to C has risen significantly to an impressive 79% with half of all entries graded at A*-B. The overall pass rate for our A levels is 98%. Equally impressive, is the pass rate for our Level 3 vocational and technical courses at 97% with most of the grades awarded at the very highest levels.

'We are immensely proud of our students' achievements and these results reflect their hard work, commitment and determination. Two of our students, Evvia Gonzales and Felix Prutton, have been successful in gaining entry to the University of Cambridge where they will be studying Natural Sciences; Evvia at St. John's and Felix at Downing. The Governors and I would like to pass on our congratulations to the students, staff and parents of Bungay High Sixth Form on the excellent results achieved this year.'

Principal Matthew Parr-Burman said: 'It's the best result for a number of years, certainly the best result for the last few years. We've had lots of fantastic individual results, we've got students off to Oxford and Cambridge for the seventh year, it's pretty impressive.

'We don't select students on ability. We're serving the community, any student who wants to come here, we'll take them. The number of students who could go to university has doubled, we're certainly punching above our weight and I'm really proud of the students.'

Alex Hayes, principal, University Technical College Norfolk: 'We are delighted by our first set of Engineering results, which our students are celebrating today alongside their A Level achievements. 61.7pc of UTC Norfolk students achieved a Distinction grade for the BTEC Engineering Diploma and 57.1pc achieved a Distinction grade for the BTEC Advanced Subsidiary Diploma.

'Additionally, many of our students will leave us with the equivalent of 4 A Levels. These results have enabled our students to take up a wide range of university and apprenticeship places. Principal Jonathan Taylor said: 'Congratulations to our Year 13 students on an excellent set of results. 32% of grades were A* or A and the overall average grade is a B. We can confirm 7 Oxbridge places and an incredible 134 students achieved 1 or more A grade.

'We are delighted that so many of our students have secured their first choice University. Our AS results are also very strong, with 30 students securing 4 A grades, which bodes well for next summer too.'
