It has been a chilly start to today with temperatures dipping to as low as minus six degrees Celsius in some parts overnight.
James Wilby, a forecaster for UEA-based Weatherquest, said the temperature fell to minus six degrees Celsius in Santon Downham and minus five degrees Celsius at Houghton Hall, west of Fakenham. He said the temperature across a large part of the region was minus four degrees Celsius.
He said today there would be sunny spells but that the temperature would struggle to get up to four or five degrees Celsius during the day and that a frost was expected to set in quickly overnight.
Temperatures in some parts of Norfolk could be as low as minus four degrees Celsius tonight while Suffolk and parts of Cambridgeshire could see temperatures of minus five and minus six degrees Celsius.
