A 78-year-old driver was caught at twice the drink-drive limit after crashing at a junction on Dereham Road in Norwich on Monday evening.

Roads policing officers attended the junction of Dereham Road with Cadge Road around 8.10pm after the vehicle crashed into the barriers at the pedestrian lights heading into Norwich.

The driver, 78, blew a reading of 69mgs in breath at the roadside. The legal limit for driving is 35mgs.

The driver was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.
