5,000 ducks killed in fire at farmland near Thetford

About 5,000 ducks have been killed in a blaze on farmland near Thetford.
Fire crews from Methwold, Thetford, Swaffham and the water carrier from Fakenham were called to the incident on Swaffham Road in Ickburgh at about 7.15am and had left by 10am.
The Urban Search and Rescue animal team were called to rescue the ducks, of which there were 10,000.
Five thousand suffered from smoke inhalation and could not be saved.
No people were injured.
