Work looks set to start soon on a major town centre redevelopment which will see a former post office turned into bars and flats.
Plans to transform the building on Baxter's Plain in the centre of King's Lynn were first mooted more than 10 years ago.
Proposals for 30 flats with a pub, wine bar, "drinking establishments" and a takeaway on the ground floor were agreed in 2022.
Now developers have applied to discharge planning conditions which had to be met before work could begin.
They included surveying the site for possible contamination and drawing up a drainage plan for the site.
A report says there is a low risk that previous uses of the building, known as the Athenaeum, have left contaminants.
A drainage report states Anglian Water have agreed connections to its surface and foul water systems.
The scheme will be the second major development in the centre of Lynn to get under way when work begins.
A £14m new library and community hub is being built on the site of the former Argos store, on nearby New Conduit Street.
