There will be no streetside parking in a city road at the beginning of next month as flood prevention work gets under way.

St Leonards Road, in Thorpe Hamlet, will see a total parking restriction at its junctions with Beatrice Road, Florence Road and Marion Road from December 4.

The road regularly floods and as such the county council is surveying the area with plans to replace the outdated drains.

This will take three days to complete, subject to "suitable" weather conditions.

A fully signed official diversion route will be in place throughout the work which will run from 8am to 6pm each day.

During this time, access to properties will be maintained at all times, but slight delays may occur while teams operate stop-and-go traffic management.
