Two cars have crashed near a roundabout in Mile Cross.

The crash happened in Drayton Road near the roundabout for Mile Cross Road.

Police were called out at 8.22am and they remain on the scene, near the traffic lights close to the Bignold Road junction.

Traffic was building heading into the city, causing delays for commuters.

An ambulance attended the scene. 

A child involved went to hospital with "minor injuries" following the crash.
