Two men have appeared in court after another man was run over in Beccles.

Nathan Baker, 19, and Daniel Hermon, 26, have both been charged with attempted murder after Julian Johnson, 52, was attacked before being run over in London Road.

The victim had been set upon by a group of people at around 2.45am on Saturday (November 18).

He was pulled to the floor by the group who came out of a Toyota Yaris car and stamped on him.

They returned to the vehicle and drove over the man's torso before driving off.

Baker, of Quay Street in Halesworth, and Hermon, of Market Place in Southwold, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday (November 20).

Both defendants appeared in the dock separately with Hermon, who has glasses and a beard, appearing in the dock first speaking only to confirm his details.

Hermon, who was represented in court by Calvin Saker, was remanded in custody until the next hearing.

Baker, who was represented by James Burrows, wore a black hooded top and appeared with a black left eye.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to the James Paget University Hospital for treatment.

The court heard the victim had since been transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital due to the severity of the injuries he suffered.
