A man was arrested following an assault in the city.

Police were called to William Mear Gardens, off Pilling Park Road, at 8.51pm on Saturday following reports of a man being assaulted.

Emergency services, including an ambulance, attended the scene where a man had been hit on the head.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault and was taken to Wymondham Police Station for questioning.

He has since been released and no further action will be taken.
