A tenant from a supported living service in Lowestoft has hosted a Macmillan coffee morning fundraiser to show his support for a worker who is undergoing cancer treatment.

Lee, a tenant at Wellbeing Care’s Dell View in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft and his support worker Carl, handmade all the cakes sold at the coffee morning, raising more than £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support — a charity that provides essential services and support for people living with cancer, like Carl.

Having previously worked as a chef, Carl now passes on his culinary knowledge and skills to Lee, who has shown great interest in cooking and baking.

Lee said: "My support worker is important to me, I want to do anything to help him get better."

So together, the pair made chocolate brownies, lemon cakes, coffee cup muffins, cheese straws, scones and biscuits — all of which sold very quickly.

Carl added: "I have been through a lot with my cancer diagnosis, operation and still undergoing treatment, but I will never give up, I will continue to fight it."
