Snow could come to Norfolk next week with temperatures dropping to -7C.

And while it could be a white Christmas, there may also be some dreary winter showers to contend with across the county.

Dan Holley from the Norwich-based forecaster Weatherqest said: "The really cold air arrives late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

"Wednesday will feel different, it will feel much colder than it does today, especially because of that biting northerly wind.

"As the wind is coming in over the warm sea it will bring a lot of showers to Norfolk and some of them in the heaviest, might have a bit of sleet or hail.

"We are keeping an eye on Thursday morning because there is a cold front coming down from the north late Wednesday night to early Thursday, and depending on its arrival and whether or not it is still holding together it could give a more widespread risk of sleet and snow showers on Thursday day time.

"Although if it fizzles out before it even gets to us it will stay dry, or if it comes in the afternoon when temperatures have gone up above freezing then it will be more of a rain and sleet mix."

There is also the possibility of temperatures reaching -7C in some places in the region.

Mr Holley said the temperatures would not be as cold in places like the city centre of coastal areas.
