1940s weekend in Norfolk town raised more than £3,000 profit

The sixth Holt 1940s weekend last month raised a profit of more than £3,000 and cheques have been presented to Holt Women’s Institute and Community Centre.
Duncan Baker, chairman of the Holt 1940s committee, said: "We had an absolutely fantastic weekend of beautiful weather, amazing entertainment and a wonderful atmosphere, and we raised a huge amount of money.

"We saw more acts than ever, vintage vehicles lined the streets and our ration book trail and pigeon race were once again great successes.
"We are hugely grateful to so many people, not least North Norfolk Railway for its support. The event across the railway, Holt and Sheringham, is now so big that we are looking forward to working together in 2020 and putting on an even bigger and better event in Holt town centre for everyone to enjoy. Next year we will be back again on September 19 and 20."
