An 11-year-old girl suffered a broken leg in a hit and run involving a heavy goods vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened at about 4.30pm on Thursday on the A1067 at Lenwade.

The girl was knocked from her pedal bike by an HGV as she was emerging from The Street in Lenwade and turning left onto the A1067. She spent the weekend in the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but has now been discharged.

The HGV is described as a large articulated type vehicle, yellow in colour, possibly with writing down the side of the trailer unit.

Police are appealing for any HGV drivers who may have been in the area at that time and any one who may have witnessed the collision.
