Yarmouth's Hippodrome Circus is to again play host to an array of world-class classical musicians following the success of its concert series over the winter and spring, which included a visit by cellist Julian Lloyd-Webber.
Yarmouth's Hippodrome Circus is to again play host to an array of world-class classical musicians following the success of its concert series over the winter and spring, which included a visit by cellist Julian Lloyd-Webber.
The new series begins on November 10 with a concert featuring the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra under their conductor Jacek Kaspszyk with soloist Mikhail Rudy. The programme will include the first Chopin piano concerto and Brahms Symphony Number One.
On February 4, the Czech National Symphony Orchestra will perform two of the most popular classical works, Dvorak's New World Symphony and the Bruch Violin Concerto, with soloist Charlie Siem.
A piano recital will be given by Russian Nikolai Demidenko on the afternoon of Sunday March 21, featuring works by Beethoven and Chopin.
The European Chamber Orchestra will round off the series on April 26 with piano soloist Freddy Kempf, a regular at the King's Lynn Festival where he is a patron.
The programme, conducted by Matthias Wollong, will include Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Barber's Adagio for Strings, both works which ride high in the classical charts.
There will be a special subscription rate of �70 for anyone who wants to buy the top priced seats for the whole series, which will give a saving of over �30. There are seats at just �6 for schools and people under 26, and other age groups and people with particular needs are being encouraged to attend.
SeaChange is the arts promoting organisation for the borough which has the task of providing high quality cultural experiences to local people of all ages and backgrounds.
Last week it was announced the charity had received funding of about one million euros to develop its street arts festival work in partnership with other festivals in France and the South of England. The charity is also working to promote cultural activities in local cafes.
