New art group for Little Ouse project
The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich has teamed up with the Little Ouse Headwaters Project to form a new creative group to celebrate the environment, heritage and culture of the seven parishes in and around Blo Norton.
The aim is to encourage local people to develop their interest in and their practice of the arts in original and exciting ways. The project is free and anyone can join.
At their first meeting representatives from both bodies decided to try to bring together a wide range of creative people to produce work that reflects the wildlife, landscape and social history of this important valley with its rare wetlands and heath habitats.
They are welcoming those interested in painting, drawing, sculpture and photography, as well as poetry, prose and drama, or music, sound and other media.
A further aim will be to hold various events including an exhibition to show the work produced in late 2013. The scheme is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
