Archant

Norfolk County Council have confirmed that works to improve the Yaxham Road and Tavern Lane junction traffic lights have now been completed.

The works had caused long queues back along Yaxham Road and other surrounding roads, resulting in lengthy delays for motorists.

Equipment and the three way temporary traffic lights were removed from the site on Tuesday October 9, with the works originally having started on Monday September 24.

A spokesperson for Norfolk County Council said: “I have spoken to the highways team and can confirm that the work at this junction was completed on schedule on Tuesday.

“Teams worked around the clock to get this work done as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.”

The works, which cost £140,000, were carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
