A bus operator has apologised to passengers in west Norfolk over the 'confusion and uncertainty' after recent changes to its fares.

Stagecoach, which operates Norfolk Green buses, particularly came under fire from parents who claimed their children's ticket prices had in some cases more than doubled.

A spokesman said: 'We're sorry that some of our passengers have experienced confusion and uncertainty over recent changes to ticket prices and types, as we work to bring Norfolk Green fare structures in line with Stagecoach's zonal tariffs.'

He added that 'anyone with concerns over the price increase' should contact customer services in King's Lynn where the team will advise on the lowest possible fares.

Meanwhile, over 300 people have signed an online petition urging North West Norfolk MP Sir Henry Bellingham to put pressure on Stagecoach to lower fares.

He is drafting a letter together with North East Cambridgeshire MP Stephen Barclay, to encourage the bus operator to review the pricing policy.

Campaigners have also created a Facebook page titled 'Say No to Stagecoach Ticket Increase'.
