Drivers have been told to expect delays while road markings are renewed along the A11.

Highways England, which manages Britain’s A-roads and motorways, hopes to improve safety along the stretch of road between junction 38 of the A14 and the Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills, near Mildenhall.

The work started on Wednesday, April 18 and will continue until May 4.

It will result in the A11 northbound carriageway being closed between 8pm and 6am on weeknights, with a clearly signed diversion route via A14 junction 43 and the A134.

Highways England has also been working to repair road surfaces in the past weeks, with numerous potholes forming following the snow earlier in the year.
