Roadworks costing £4,500 are set to begin next week to repair drainage systems in a south Norfolk village leading to five days of disruption.

Work is due to begin in Aslacton, near Long Stratton, in the area of Rosebank Cottage and Luburnum Cottage on Pottergate Street on Tuesday May 29 in order to replace a suspected broken highway surface water drainage pipe.

The road will be closed for the duration of the works due to open excavations andthis means traffic will not be able to pass through the point of closure.

However access to properties within the road closure limits will be maintained.

Norfolk County Council’s community and environmental services department and its contractors will be responsible for the work and the authority has thanked people in advance for their patiences while the necessary drainage repairs are completed.
