No trains will run to coastal areas from Norwich this weekend, despite the fact snow is beginning to melt after a week of treacherous weather conditions.

Trains to and from Norwich have been delayed and cancelled along the network this week, as snowdrifts have blocked rail lines.

Many train services are now back up and running as the snow begins to thaw - but Greater Anglia has confirmed this evening that no trains will run between the fine city and Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth and Sheringham.

Services will also not run from Ipswich to Lowestoft.

A Twitter post from Greater Anglia said: “Network Rail are working to reopen these lines as soon as possible, which have proven difficult due to inaccessible road condition and severe snow drifts across the tracks.

“There will be no rail replacement buses in place to cover any of the suspended routes.”

The train company asked people to use bus services to get to and from Norwich.
