Overnight closures of roads in Hockering are due to happen on Wednesday and Thursday after bad weather delayed the work last week.

Stone Road and Heath Road will be closed between 8pm and 6am on Wednesday and on Thursday, with diversions put in place.

Work started on Monday, January 8 to change the priority at the junction of Stone Road with Heath Road to discourage traffic from travelling through Hockering to reach the A47.

The scheme, which is costing £100,000, involves converting the junction into a bend linking Heath Road and Stone Road.

The work includes the building of a new carriageway to improve the radius of the bend, and the overnight closures are for surfacing.

The work, which is in addition to measures in Hockering village to support and extend speed limits, is required under the Development Consent Order for the Norwich Northern Distributor Road.

The bill for that road is expected to be at least £205m.
