The A47 has re-opened following a crash which closed the A47 near Wisbech this morning - and led to horses escaping from a nearby field.

Highways England tweeted at just before 7.30am that the road was closed in both directions between the B198 and A1101 near Wisbech West due to a crash.

They added: “Horses have also escaped from a local field and are currently being guided away from the carriageway and are being secured behind a fence again.”

Traffic was diverted and drivers were warned to face delays, until the road was re-opened at just before 10.30am.
