On Thursday (July 19) intu Chapelfield in Norwich will be the first shopping centre in the UK to pilot an exclusive and exciting new experiential dining experience for people who really love their food and eating out.

Part of the intu Accelerate programme, which supports and fast tracks disruptive young businesses in the retail industry, the first ever intu Supper Club will be coordinated by multi award-winning social dining platform WeFiFo in partnership with one of Norfolk's favourite dining destinations, The Last Wine Bar and Restaurant.

Chapelfield Plain outside the main entrance to intu Chapelfield will become a unique dining space for the event with guests seated at large tables and chefs taking centre-stage so diners will be able to meet new people and see each course of the bespoke menu being created.

'The intu Supper Club is a new concept in eating out and we're extremely excited to be launching it at intu Chapelfield as part of the intu Accelerate programme,' explains Sheridan Smith, marketing manager of intu Chapelfield. 'Norwich was chosen because Norfolk has some of the best chefs, producers, farmers and restaurants in the UK. As events such as the Moveable Feast, Norfolk Food & Drink Festival and Porkstock demonstrate, there's a real appetite within our county for high quality, delicious food and drink grown and produced locally.'

Working closely with the team at intu Chapelfield, WeFiFo reached out to celebrated local restaurant The Last Wine Bar.

Iain McCarten is head chef of 'The Last'. 'Over the last couple of months, we've been working with intu and WeFiFo to create something very special for the people of Norwich in a really interesting location. The open space on Chapelfield Plain allows us to showcase our Barbacoa Grill so that diners will be able to see everything that's going on, and even chat to us, while we're preparing their food. We will, of course, be using lots of fantastic local produce within the bespoke menu and each course will be paired with a specially chosen wine.'

Sheridan Smith continues: 'At intu, creating events that put a smile on the faces of our customers is key to our sustainability, whether that's free family club activities or fun, fashion initiatives. It's all about creating wonderful experiences and bringing a touch of joy to the retail environment.

'Whilst many people are familiar with the fantastic selection of restaurants that surround Chapelfield Plain, we can promise that the area will be totally transformed; we'll be creating a 'one night only' restaurant unlike anything you've seen before. It will be a wonderful opportunity to share a very special evening with friends, meet new people, enjoy fabulous local food and see it being prepared right in front of you.'

It is hoped that this event will be just the starting point for a series of unique dining experiences based at intu shopping centres across the UK.

The four-course menu, will include treacle cured salmon, chargrilled beef short rib and chargrilled cauliflower with miso glaze. Each course is accompanied by a specially selected wine. A vegetarian or vegan menu is also available.
