I cannot be the only one who has had it up to here, hearing about Brexit on our TV and radio daily. I have therefore come up with the following as British humour always helps in so many situations.

With increasing talk from the EU of our final exit leaving bill, this will be the most scrutinised audited invoice/bill by HM government in history.

I certainly hope UK taxpayers will be given the opportunity in some way or another to see it themselves.

As for the negotiations on this exit bill, I suggest the following as a starter. When the bill arrives it is returned in due course to the EU with the following note pinned to it with a paper clip: 'Dear EU we are in receipt of a bill for leaving the EU, there is obviously a major misunderstanding here as we are seeking and expect a refund, we are flexible and would consider a repayment plan, thank you in anticipation, UK government'.

There is a saying 'if you don't ask, you don't get'.
