Set within the enchanting grounds of Old Hunstanton Hall, where it is said PG Wodehouse often stayed and wrote, The Clock Tower is a simply magical home quite unlike any other.

Currently on the market with Jackson-Stops & Staff at a guide price of £1,750,000 – and available if desired with a detached coachman's cottage (guide price £295,000) – it really is a treasure trove of delights.

Home to the current owners for many years, this was once the moated coach house to the grand country residence and is today a magnificent property with an abundance of character and a wealth of special features.

Set in approximately 2.9 acres, including its beautiful moat, a paddock and an orchard, it dates back to 1876 and was once apparently home to a Derby winner called Rajah.

Since then, however, it has been creatively converted to offer exceptional and unique family living space, which not only makes the most of its picturesque setting but also offers highly flexible accommodation.

The beautiful carrstone and brick home is set around a pretty central courtyard and visitors still enter where the carriages would once have pulled in beneath the clock tower itself, which has recently been restored.

The ground floor of the house offers extensive living accommodation, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms also at this level but arranged together in one wing.

The master suite and an additional upper mezzanine landing, sitting room and bedroom can be found on the first floor, located at opposite ends of the building.

While every room at The Clock Tower has its own appeal, it is the stunning drawing room that always leaves visitors speechless.

This vaulted space, where the work of renowned Norfolk architect Charles Morris really makes a statement, has uninterrupted views out over the glorious grounds through a full-height, Gothic window.

This stone, mullioned masterpiece was designed by the architect and made by craftsmen who create similar pieces for churches.

At one end of the room, an exquisite spiral staircase sweeps up to the mezzanine level and galleried landing; there are two beautiful fireplaces and doors open on to the courtyard from within the wall opposite the great window.

While this space must be truly spectacular for entertaining and family celebrations, the beauty of The Clock Tower is that it does also offer smaller, cosier rooms for quieter occasions. There is a sitting room, with a wood-burning stove, a snug and a study.

The kitchen dining room is a very generous room, which is very much at the heart of life at the house: this features painted wooden units, an Aga and a walk-in pantry, and has room for a large dining table.

In addition to the substantial accommodation offered by the main house, The Clock Tower comes with a detached game larder. This charming building, with its tiled roof and attractive eaves, currently comprises two rooms and could make a great studio or even additional accommodation.

Adjacent to The Clock Tower is Coachman's Cottage, which can also be available to anyone interested in buying the main house.

This two-storey property could make ancillary accommodation or be enjoyed as a self-contained home for relatives or holiday guests perhaps.

It has an entrance hall, cloakroom, sitting and dining room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms, as well as its own garden.

The Clock Tower is clearly a home for all seasons: roaring fires and the inviting kitchen with its Aga make it a fabulous place to return to after long winter walks through the scenic surroundings of tranquil Old Hunstanton.

Warmer days might be spent on the beach, which is just a short stroll away, or relaxing out on the terrace by the water's edge, soaking up the spectacular spring, summer or autumnal colour.

It is a home like no other with its own truly unique appeal and with a beauty both in its architecture and its setting that really has to be seen to be believed.
