Twelve new homes could be built on land off Town Lane, planning papers reveal.

Fleur Hill wants to build 10 'market' properties and two affordable homes on the site. West Norfolk councillors have been recommended to approve the development when the planning committee meets on Monday - despite objections.

One says: 'It will only serve to deliver even more second homes and holiday lets, neither of which are needed in Brancaster Staithe.' Another adds: 'The proposal provides very little in the way of affordable housing.' Concerns have also been raised about impact on the landscape, loss of amenity and oparking problems. But a report to councillors says: 'The applicant has demonstrated that this number of dwellings can blend in with adjacent properties and areas to maintain the form and character of the village without significant impact on the landscape and scenic beauty of the nearby AONB.'
