Residents have raised a number of concerns over proposals to build 45 new homes close to the Flegg High Ormiston Academy in Martham.

Developers La Ronde Wright have applied to Great Yarmouth Borough Council to carry out the developments on land to the south of Somerton Road, with a decision due at a meeting on Wednesday.

Residents have cited the existing volumes of traffic, the increasing number of housing developments being approved in the village and proposals to move the pedestrian path as causes for concern in a report prepared for the Development Control committee.

Martham Parish Council has asked for a restriction on HGV's travelling through the area during school opening and closing times should the development go ahead.

Chairman of Martham Parish Council, Paul Hooper said: 'No real objections have been made by the council however we have been made aware that a number of residents have made objections.'

If successful in gaining planning permission, the development would see an existing barn on Church Farm converted into two homes, with the addition of 43 further homes and associated infrastructure.
