I will be relieved to see the back of this season. The Canaries have three games to go but nothing to play for. It's all about what will happen in the summer to make the next season a better one.

Sporting director Stuart Webber has been clear about his intention to make wholesale changes to the playing staff.

While I am hoping to put this season behind me and indulge myself in a summer of cricket, Webber is set to be a busy man.

He has spoken enough about the need to overhaul the squad and it would now be a huge disappointment if only minor alterations were actually made.

The players putting the biggest strain on the wage bill need to go.

This season has been proof that they are either not good enough or too comfortable.

Moving them on will free up finances for replacements. Then there are those players who have been here a while, have simply had their time and will forever have their reputations tainted in the minds of the supporters.

I'm talking about the likes of Sébastien Bassong, who sparks gasps of trepidation from the stands whenever he touches the ball nowadays; Ryan Bennett, an error-prone defender who possesses no pace whatsoever; and Steven Whittaker, who in my opinion has never shown himself capable of consistently playing at the level Norwich need him to.

Finally, there are players that have never been good enough and should not have been signed in the first place.

One name stands out – Michael McGovern. He lacks any presence in the goal at all, has never been able to command his defence in the way John Ruddy can, and it increasingly looks like he was brought to the club on his performance for Northern Ireland against Germany at Euro 2016 alone.

He did well in that game, but one swallow does not a summer make.

There should be lots happening at Carrow Road this summer with players coming and going.

I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make the big decisions.

Over to you, Mr Webber.
