The transfer window is now open again and already there have been rumours of players coming and going from Carrow Road.

The main name who's supposed to be on his way out is Wes Hoolahan, if we are to believe what we hear, with Paul Lambert keen on taking him to Villa Park.

Wes has been at the club for over five years and has been fantastic for the club, becoming a firm favourite with the fans in the process.

He's a great lad and through all the success he's had in the last few years he hasn't changed one bit. He's still the down to earth character he was when the club signed him on my birthday in 2008.

But at 31 he needs to be playing regularly, which he hasn't seemed to have done under Chris Hughton for one reason or other. It might be a good time for Wes to start a new challenge for a manager who definitely knows how to get the best out of him.

If he is to move on then I'm sure the club will get a good price for him. So what does Chris need to bring in to the club this month? Personally, I believe it's all about creativity.

All 10 clubs in the lower half of the table would love to bring a proven goal scorer in to help stay in the league, but it's not quite that simple. To get someone who's going to score you 10-plus goals in the last 18 games would cost you a king's ransom.

One player who has been linked with a loan move to the Canaries is Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha. He was signed for United by Sir Alex Ferguson but was immediately returned to help his former club Crystal Palace, who went on to win promotion at the end of last season. He's very quick and can play down either wing and just off the centre-forward. However, even though United haven't been at their best this season he still hasn't been given an opportunity by David Moyes.

There are a few clubs chasing his services, Cardiff and Swansea naming but two.

If I'm totally honest I don't think it would be the end of the world if he chose not to join Norwich, as with Nathan Redmond and the Murphy twins, even though the latter two are very inexperienced, Chris has players with similar attributes to Zaha.

Toffees will provide tough test of unbeaten start to new year

It's Everton tomorrow, a side who have had a brilliant first half to the season and that are right up there in fifth position. Roberto Martinez's men are on a great run, having only lost once in their last 14 games, that coming at Goodison Park on Boxing Day against Sunderland when they had goalkeeper Tim Howard sent off and lost 1-0.

The Toffees have only lost twice in their opening 20 games, so it's going to be a big challenge for the lads to come away from Merseyside with any points. The lads have played three games in the north-west already this season, losing all three and conceding 16 goals, scoring once.

So you would say the fans who travel away are due a performance they can be proud of, and having taken a point from Everton in the first game of the season, lets hope they can maintain their unbeaten start to the new year.
