1. Grosvenor Fish Bar
'This really is sexy fish and chips!' That is just one of the reviews heaping praise on this fish bar on Lower Goat Lane in Norwich. On the outside it may look like any other fish and chip shop but once you get in there is menu that offers a lot more than your usual cod and you can even have a glass of fizz with your meal. With a seating downstairs for up to 50 and a delivering service to The Birdcage Pub opposite it is a favourite of both locals and tourists.

It is the concept that has got people talking about this tapas restaurant on St Benedicts Street. There is no menu and instead customers are shown a number of tapas style dishes throughout the sitting which they can choose to eat if they like the sound of what is on offer or leave and wait for the next dish. Martin said of his time at B'nou on Tripadvisor: 'This has probably been my most enjoyable dining experience in Norwich for a long time! Wonderful food, quirky Ben and lovely Anna made a great team and served us with a sense of fun.'

Benedicts is fast getting a reputation as one of the best restaurants in the county. Run by Great British Menu star Richard Bainbridge, it serves modern bistro dishes using local Norfolk ingredients. The St Benedicts Street eatery is currently rated as excellent on TripAdvisor and one reviewer said: 'It is the equal of the best that London has to offer and everything from the food itself to the extremely attentive service is of the highest quality.'
4. Roger Hickman's Restaurant
Food critic Jay Rayner may not have been a fan of this award winning restaurant on Upper St Giles Sreet but its customers have called it 'faultless' and a 'taste sensation' on TripAdvisor. Roger Hickman offers a full À la carte menu as well as seven-course taster menu with the added option of a wine flight and it seems that most people are fans of this fine dining establishment.
Situated above The Edith Cavell bar in Tombland this venue is well known in Norwich for its variety of quality steaks. One person said of his meal at Prime: 'It is quite an experience when we ordered the steak and it came out sizzling on its own volcanic rock platter. You could keep it on there to get the steak exactly the way that you wanted. Good sauces and chips!'
6. No.33 Cafe Bar
'This café can only be described as simply scrumptious!' That is what Meryl Joe had to say about No.33 on Exchange Street in the city. The independent family run business serves freshly prepared homemade food for their hungry customers and are known around the city for their hearty brunches. Claire Sullivan said of her brunch: 'We both had eggs Benedict on sour dough toast. Wow! The ham was so thick and delicious, the eggs perfect and the accompanying cappuccino was yummy.'
7. Namaste India
'We've travelled to India and this is as close as Norwich gets to a genuine Indian restaurant'. That is high praise indeed for the only Indian restaurant to make the top ten. This pure vegetarian restaurant on Opie Street has such a wide variety of dishes on offer that even meat eaters cannot help but be impressed. It also has a bring your own alcohol policy which helps it make a very affordable option for dining in Norwich.
8. Cote Brasserie
On Exchange Street in the city centre this chain restaurant serves traditional French classics and has currently been rated as excellent 130 times on TripAdvisor. It is particularly commended for its service with Jilly writing about her waitress: 'She gave us excellent, friendly and professional service. She's a treasure!'
9. Moorish Falafel Bar
Situated in the Norwich lanes this vegetarian eatery serves their staple falafel alongside their signature Moorish sauces. Mark wrote on TripAdvisor that it is one of the best falafel places in the world: 'I've eaten them in a few places around the world, including Israel, Lebanon and France and this has only been beaten by a very renowned street falafel place in Haifa. You just have to go here.'
10. Pandora's Kitchen
Esquire magazine voted this cafe on London Street as one of the best places to eat breakfast in the UK and it is well known in the city for speciality hot chocolates. Laura said of her visits to the cafe: 'The service is always first class, nothing is too much trouble and the waitresses work so hard and always have a smile on their faces and I never leave without my favourite to take away - the salted caramel brownie!'
