Two free storytelling sessions will take place in West Norfolk during Heritage Open Day.

Families are invited to True's Yard Fisherfolk Museum in North Street, King's Lynn, to hear some enthralling tales about the ancient port of Lynn.

The event on Sunday, September 16 is part of the Hidden Heritage of the Gaywood River, a £210,000 project to enhance a former landfill site at Lynnsport.

The project has created a new disabled-access footpath through the site and turned the site into wooded parkland with a wildflower meadow.

Children of all ages will learn about the ruthless pirates that menaced the port, the smugglers who were loved by the people but hated by authority and how King John lost his fabled treasure.

The two sessions are at 11am and 12.30pm. Admission is free with no need to book.
