Members of the King's Morris were up bright and early today to dance up the dawn on the Knights Hill roundabout in South Wootton, outside King's Lynn.
The group of morris men has been carrying out the traditional event since the early 1980s.
The group's treasurer Ian Price said: 'It was beautiful - a cracking sunset. I got up at 4.10am as I was in charge of taking supplies for our breakfast. I live in King's Lynn so I did not have too far to go.
'There were seven dancers, two musicians, a musician's dog, and we had an audience of about eight or nine people.
'We don't normally get an audience, but it was maybe because it's not a working day.
'I have been doing this since 1986 and I still enjoy it.'
The Morris men later presented the Lynn May garland to welcome the coming of summer.
The garland consists of a large double-hoop bedecked with flowers, ribbons and beads, held aloft on a pole. This was carried around the town, accompanied by the lusty blowing of cows' horns.
The team resurrected this centuries-old May Day tradition of the town in 1983.
Before starting the colourful garland procession around the town centre, they presented a display of Morris dancing on Saturday Market Place.
The King's Morris will also be out and about tomorrow, when they perform one of their annual dancing tours around the coast. They will dance at the Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe, at noon, The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market at 1pm, and the Globe, Wells-next-the-sea at 2.30pm.
