The fair has traditionally been held in the Tuesday Market Place for more than 800 years.
Showmen and women are expected to start setting up their rides for this year's event on Sunday.
Lynn Mart traditionally opens on Valentine's Day and continues for around a fortnight. This year's opening ceremony will be at noon on Tuesday, February 14, when dignitaries take to the dodgems.
As well as thousands of thrillseekers and a kaleidoscope of lights and sounds, the fair is also reckoned to bring 'Mart weather', with its arrival heralding a cold snap.
