An event which is simply scrumptious has been organised in mid-Norfolk to celebrate all that is crunchtastic about the humble apple.
Apple Day has become an annual tradition at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse, near Dereham, and aims to give visitors the chance to get to the core of this versatile fruit.
Starting at 10am on Sunday October 14, visitors can explore all things appley, from pressing and tasting to buying and naming.
And for anyone who has always wondered what that mystery apple tree is in their garden or orchard, experts from The East of England Apple and Orchard Project will be on hand to help.
Other activities include craftspeople demonstrating skills, live entertainment and music, target practice with Grey Goose Archery, discovering the story of William Tell, and Art Attack - where visitors can get crafty make apple decorations.
There will also be a display from a group of vintage engine and farm machinery enthusiasts including the Meet the Steam Up team, Gressenhall's volunteer engineers who will be running some of the museum's engines, and Team Panhard, which maintain and run the museum's 1899 Panhard et Levassor motor car.
And the steam thresher separating the cereal grains from the stalks on Gressenhall Farm will be on display alongside Suffolk Punch horses working on the fields.
The Grand Apple Day Parade will begin at 3.15pm.
As well as the chance to buy handmade country products, there will also be lots of opportunities to buy direct from local producers of apple juices, ciders, cakes and autumnal preserves and chutneys.
Apple Day runs from 10am to 5pm on Sunday October 14.
Special event ticket prices apply and admission for adults is £15.00, concessions £14.25, young people (aged four to 18) £12.75. Family tickers are also available from £39.60. Norfolk Museums Pass holders are free.
Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse is part of Norfolk Museums Service. The service was set up in 1974 and is a partnership of city, county and district councils in Norfolk working together, through the Joint Museums Committee, to manage museums and heritage services across the county.
